About Us

Our Story

Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, founded in 1987, was the first new Episcopal mission (sponsored by St. Johns, Wilmington) founded in Pender County since 1909 and the first in the diocese in the past ten years. Twenty charter members held the first service in the Hampstead Community Building. On a cold, windy morning in March of 1993, the first spadeful of sod was dug from the site (107 Deerfield Drive) that would become Holy Trinity Episcopal Church.

What We Believe

We believe in following the teachings of Jesus Christ, whose life, death, and resurrection saved the world. We believe the Bible contains everything necessary for salvation and should be interpreted using reason and tradition. We believe in striving for justice and peace among all people. We have a legacy of inclusion, believing that God loves everyone - no exceptions.

About Our Service

We celebrate the Holy Eucharist each Sunday. All are welcome to join us, regardless of where you are in your faith journey. Young families, retirees, and all people in between will find a comfortable home here. Our worship is traditional and liturgical, based on The Book of Common Prayer, but it is “low church.” Sit, stand, or kneel?  It is your decision. Nothing you do is wrong. After service there is a brief coffee hour where you can enjoy a snack and socialize.

Our Mission

Holy Trinity is a Christ-centered community. We are dedicated to reaching and helping people seeking to know God and to serve God. We are inclusive -- all are welcome! In a world of differences, we come to church to be reconciled by God to each other and to build a right relationship with God. The Episcopal Church does not ask you to check your mind at the door. Our ability to reason is a gift from God. Questions are always welcome.
